In these meetings, different aspects of the work are explored together. Sitting, reading work literature, work in Movements, studying cosmological and psychological ideas, listening to Gurdjieff music, and sharing one’s personal experience, questions and insights in relation to the Work are typical activities.
The unique characteristic of a Work group is that it undertakes weekly practices so that the continuity of inner work can be maintained. Therefore, weekly meetings end with the taking of practical tasks for awareness which are to be carried out during the course of the week.
The regional groups are independent of each other. Their character is unique and distinct. They try different ways of working based on the requirements of the members.
A unique feature of the Work in India over these years has been an effort to study the Indian tradition and scriptures in the light of the Work. This includes fundamental ideas about life, the way it can be lived, and what comes in the way.
